4 Fitness Activities You Can Do in Your Garden

If you want to get fit and do something active but don’t want to leave the comfort of your own home and private space, there are plenty of fitness activities you can do outside in your garden in the fresh air. Some of these include:

Gardening – Although at first gardening may not seem like a particularly active hobby, it can be a lot of hard work as you’re bending down and squatting to plant your garden and reaching up high to trim hedges and trees. Plus, just being out in the fresh air and connecting with nature is a great way to improve your health.

 

  1. Yoga – Yoga isn’t always for everyone, as it can take a lot to reach your inner zen, however practicing this deceptively tough fitness activity will help you get fit in no time. Teach yourself some standard poses and you’ll start noticing an improvement to your health in no time. You may need to make some space in your garden to roll out your mats though so make sure to have leaf blowers on hand to clear out any leaves or other garden foliage.

 

  1. Soccer – This one is pretty simple; to play soccer all you need is a ball, some makeshift goalposts and some willing teammates and you’re all set! This fitness activity will not only help you get in shape but can also help you bond with the family or friends you choose to have on your team. It also helps that it’s a lot of fun!

 

  1. Outdoor workout – You don’t need to go to the gym to do a simple full-body workout, there are plenty of exercises you can do outside in your garden that don’t require equipment. Consult your gym instructor or look online for a list of great bodyweight exercises will ensure you finish feeling like you’ve just spent 2 hours at the gym!
